Buildings to See in Vienna

I’ll tell the buildings to see in addtion to palaces and museums. As I mentioned in the other articles, architecture in Vienna is definetly worth seeing. In ever street, you are fascinated by the buildings and if you go into those, you are even more charmed. Let me first start with a passage though. The Ferstel Passage was so beautiful that it felt like a waste to just use it as a passageway. Why don’t we have more beautiful arcades like this? I had recorded videos of this place on Instagram and saved them as drafts, but unfortunately, they all disappeared; I was really upset. I guess I have no choice but to go back.

The Majolikahaus by Otto Wagner is a famous building with floral patterns. The building at number 38 next door is also worth seeing. Yes, they are nice, but after seeing the buildings in Prague or the palaces in Vienna, I don’t think they’re a must-see. Still, you can decide for yourself by looking at the photos.

Kunst Haus Wien is actually a museum, but since I didn’t go inside, I didn’t want to mention it under the museum section. The building is different from the outside, but I’m doubtful about its beauty; especially those neon signs made me wonder if a Turk is running the place. An English tourist passing by even remarked to his companion how ugly the building was:) Since it’s a museum, you can pay to go inside, but I didn’t explore it.I’m undecided about the building, but there is a garden with a café in front of it, where you can also experience some artworks. For example, you enter a small cube-like structure and feel like you’re in a forest for a few seconds… I recommend exploring the garden.

Hundertwasser

Hundertwasser House is one of the most photographed spots. It’s the colorful building with unique architecture. I don’t want to make comparisons, but after seeing Gaudi’s houses, it makes you wonder if this place really deserves all the fame. It makes sense within the borders of Vienna, but outside of those borders, it doesn’t hold much meaning. Still, I wouldn’t say you shouldn’t see it; if you have time, go ahead and check it out.

Rathaus (City Hall) is also quite majestic from the outside; I didn’t go inside, but it will certainly catch your attention as you pass by.
